Spring Equinox Newsletter, 2006
From R J Stewart
Greetings!
This Spring sees many changes, and a very
full program of workshops, publishing, and recordings for
2006 and 2007.
I have recently moved back to Arcata, CA,
after a year or so on Vashon Island. Arcata is a small university
town (Humboldt University) with many excellent resources and
a high level of awareness, plus a rich musical and artistic
life. It is the center of the environmental movement in California:
Arcata was the first city to buy a redwood forest and preserve
it, way back in 1955! That forest is just five minutes from
my house.
Publications and Recordings
April sees the long awaited republication
of Living Magical Arts, shortly followed by Advanced
Magical Arts (Thoth Publications, UK). These two books
were first published in the mid-1980’s, and reached
a wide audience at that time. For the last few years they
have been unavailable, and unscrupulous book dealers have
asked very high prices for used copies. We will have copies
of the new editions available on the bookstore website, at
www.rjstewart.net as
soon as they arrive in the USA. At the same time, the recording
of the visualizations and ceremonies from Advanced Magical
Arts has been re-mastered, and will be issued as a new
CD, replacing the old 3 cassette set.
In May I shall be producing a CD of Caitlin
Matthews singing sacred and magical songs, and we expect this
to be available in June.
Also scheduled for summer publication is
my new book and CD: The Spirit Cord, based on the
series of workshops that I have been teaching for the last
three years. This book is part of the ongoing Inner Temple
Traditions InnerConvocation work, started back in the 1980s
with the Magical Arts books mentioned above.
The Well of Light (book and CD)
is currently reprinting, and a new edition will be available
by early June. Meanwhile the remastered Well of Light
CD is still available as a separate item. I have been surprised
and gratified by the increased demand for this book that has
occurred in the last few months.
Workshops and Classes
Those of you who wish to go to Britain this
year are warmly invited to join the unique workshops in Glastonbury
(The Fire and Sea Temples, with teachings of Ronald Heaver)
in July, and at Emerson College (the Sacred Rose, a residential
retreat), early August. For details please see the Calendar.
My expanded article on meetings with Ronald Heaver will be
published in the Spring edition of Avalon magazine, based
in Glastonbury, and will appear later on www.rjstewart.org.
The autumn calendar is now full, and the
Autumn schedule of workshops will appear on the calendar
during early April. Workshops and concerts confirmed include
Louisville KY, Fort Lauderdale FL, Boston MA, Seattle WA,
Vancouver BC, New York, Santa Fe, with a number of new venues
to be published shortly, and some larger events such as conferences
and gatherings. There are also several dates booked for 2007,
and (for the first time ever) we will be publishing a calendar
well in advance for those dates.
Future Plans
For 2007 I shall be working on some larger
projects in recording, film, and writing, which are currently
in the planning stage. More news of those in the months to
come! Plus some remarkable new workshops, which I will be
co-teaching with others, and these will be announced later
this year.
Contact information.
Good Wishes
Robert (RJ) Stewart
