Summer Solstice Newsletter, 2006

Greetings!
Many people have chided me for being slow with newsletters
and not giving enough information…so I hope that this one
will meet such demands, as it is packed with both information
and inspiration.
This comprehensive summer newsletter announces an upsurge
in both teaching and creative work, which is keeping me extremely
busy! Several new CDs and new books, plus some long awaited
reprints, and new co-operative projects running into next
year, 2007, are announced below.
I celebrated this Summer Solstice in the remote Skalitude
retreat center, in the Cascade Mountains in eastern Washington.

We collectively built and opened a Crossroads, which is a
double stone circle 60 feet across, with four paths for the
Four Directions, and a Well of Light in the center. It was
a remarkable experience, and I hope to build and co-create
more of these stone Crossroads in other permanent sites.
If you are interested in having such a magical structure
on your own land, please contact me.
Crossroads building is especially suited for group work at
permanent locations, where there will be ongoing creative
and magical work.
Prophecy: In July I shall be working on a
documentary for the History Channel, on the theme of oracles
and prophecy. This film will include segments about The
Prophecies of Merlin (see http://www.dreampower.com/ProphMerlin.html
). More news to follow, when I know more!
Gate Openings: This summer sees the beginning
of a new level of work for experienced groups, in addition
to the usual workshop series. The new events are called Gate
Openings, commencing with the Fire Temple and Lineage
of Zadok work from Ronald Heaver, the Glastonbury adept
(1900-1980).Gate Openings will be offered in several locations
in the USA during 2007, and at some private gatherings that
will not be advertised in 2006 and 2007. Information will
appear on the web calendar and workshop descriptions, such
as our July event currently listed. The requirements for Gate
Opening events are more strict than those for general workshops,
so be aware!
Publications and Recordings
NEW! Living Magical Arts is now available
from Thoth Publications in the UK, www.thoth.co.uk
and from www.rjstewart.net in the USA. This book
was first published in the mid-1980’s, and reached a wide
audience at that time. For the last few years Living Magical
Arts, and volume two, Advanced Magical Arts have
been unavailable, and unscrupulous book dealers have asked
very high prices for used copies.
NEW MAGICAL ARTS CDs: The digitized and remastered
recording of the visualizations and ceremonies from Advanced
Magical Arts is now out, as a set of
2 CDs, replacing the older 3 cassette set.
COMING SOON! Earth’s Own Heart is the title
for the new CD from Caitlin Matthews! During her visit in
May Caitlin recorded many beautiful songs, including some
powerful magical songs of her own. At this time I am working
on the instrumental textures and mixing of the CD, and we
expect it will be released in September.
NEW! Durdabhla, Murmur of the Wild Apple Trees
is the new CD from Peter Berry, recorded last year. Inspiring
and lyrical Irish traditional stories, with music on the Irish
wire-strung harp and larger Celtic harp. Peter is a talented
story-teller and harper from Seattle, who speaks Irish, and
has devoted his creative life to the magical art of ancient
mythic tales and traditional harp music.
COMING SOON! The Spirit Cord, book and CD,
based on the series of workshops that I have been teaching
for the last four years, is still arriving here, in stages,
as page proofs. As soon as the proofs are complete, The
Spirit Cord can go into print! This book is part of the
ongoing Inner Temple Traditions/Inner Convocation
work, started back in the 1980s with the two Magical
Arts books mentioned above.
COMING SOON! The Well of Light (book and
CD) is currently reprinting, and a new edition will be available
later this year. This is the fourth book in my Earth Light
series, following from The UnderWorld Initiation, Earth
Light and Power Within the Land. Meanwhile the
remastered Well of Light CD is still available as a
separate item. I have been surprised and gratified by the
increased demand for this book that has occurred in the last
few months.
IN PROGRESS!John Matthews and I are working
on a new edition of our first collaborative book Warriors
of Arthur, which first appeared in the 1980’s. Following
the interest in John’s work on the recent film King Arthur,
we are updating much of the original book, and writing a new
set of stories to replace the old ones, which have all been
republished in other collections and anthologies over the
years.
IN PROGRESS! I am currently discussing a
powerful new anthology with my friend Raven Grimassi, who
has written many books on Strega tradition and revival witchcraft.
Raven is a writer of great integrity and vision, and we expect
this book to have several contributors under his editorship.
More news to come later this year!
Workshops and Classes
In Britain: Those of you who wish to go to Britain
this year are warmly invited to join the unique workshop with
myself and H Reid Shaw, at Emerson College (the Sacred Rose,
a residential retreat), early August. Emerson is the Steiner
university in England, set in beautiful countryside.
Glastonbury event now full! The Lineage of Zadok,
Fire and Sea Temple, teachings of Ronald Heaver, is now
fully subscribed. Further Gate Opening events are planned
for some USA locations for 2007. For details please go to:

My expanded article on meetings with Ronald Heaver appeared
in the spring edition of Avalon magazine, based in Glastonbury,
and is now available on the same website.
The autumn/winter calendar is full, and the schedule of

There are also several dates booked for 2007, and (for the
first time ever) we are publishing a calendar well in advance
for those dates. At this time I am accepting dates from April
2007 onwards. If you wish to plan a workshop or event with
me, please make contact as early as possible.
Future Plans
For 2007 I shall be working on some larger projects in recording,
film, and writing, which are currently in the planning stage.
More news of those in the months to come!
Plus, there will be some remarkable new workshops, including
special events which I will be co-teaching with others.
