From R J Stewart
Greetings! Yes… I know that my newsletter
updates are slow…so this one has been written early,
and will be updated occasionally during 2005.
I have finally moved to the Pacific North
West, as was long predicted, and oft invited, by my many friends
in Seattle and points north. The climate is like Scotland,
but the mountains are bigger, and I hope to stay here for
some time!
New Projects
I am close to completing the first Cord book,
to be published early in 2005. This is a synthesis of methods
taught in the Cord series of workshops, specially designed
for the individual working alone or as a supplement for those
who have attended workshops. The book will include a CD of
the exercises, with original meditational music.
Tree of Life Course CDs
Members of the protean Tree of Life course
will be pleased to hear that I am recording a CD of the meditation
and visionary forms. These will be sent out, as part of the
course, to existing members during 2005, along with the new
chapters for each module. If you want to join the Course,
please email Willow.
The CD will give us all an opportunity to integrate Elemental
Chanting with Tree of Life visionary workings.
Website developments
In 2005 we will be gradually reducing the
Dreampower website, and publishing new material on a new website,
www.rjstewart.org
. For some time there will be seamless links from Dreampower
to the new site: if you are reading this on-line, you are
already at the new site! Eventually Dreampower will become
a resource for the Dreampower tarot deck on-line, and for
larger free internet books, with an archive of older material.
All calendars, articles, smaller texts, creative and workshop
related material, will be on the new site, which will have
a totally new look and feel. Our new web-person is Kathryn
Smith. Kathryn is also one of the discussion list Moderators,
along with Julia Larkin. Please feel free to join one of the
active discussion lists, rjs_books
or rjstewart
_innertemple, hosted by Yahoo
groups.
Welcome!
Reprints
The long-overdue reprints of Living Magical
Arts and Advanced Magical Arts are being proof-read
at the publishers (hooray!!!) as I write this. Thoth Publications
(UK) is aiming for publication early in 2005. These two books
are in demand…prices for used copies on the Internet
are become absurdly high. DO NOT BUY THEM! The author gets
nothing if you pay $150.00 or more for a used copy: this applies
to all high priced used books, of course. Wait for the normal
priced reprints of Magical Arts, which contain some new introductory
material, and have been revised throughout.
Workshop series and concerts
In 2005 there will be the following ongoing series of workshops:
-
Faery and UnderWorld series: The Well
of Light (from the book, but not limited to material in
the book). The Faery Cord: part one of the Cord series,
see below. The Magic of Three Sticks: three part series,
presented only at College of the Crossroads, CA. See the
2005 Calendar for dates and
contact details
-
Cord series: this popular 3 part series
runs ongoing, in various parts of the USA, with occasional
classes in the UK.
-
Inner Temple Traditions. I have been
teaching and mediating Inner Temple work for 16 years
now in the US and UK. This perennial spiritual theme is
presented as a cycle of workshops, and in 2005 we are
especially focussing on Sea Temple work, though all Inner
Temple workshops are featured from time in various places.
See the 2005 Calendar for
dates and contact details.
-
I will be giving several concerts in
2005, at locations listed in the new Calendar. The first
one will be at PantheaCon, in San Jose, CA, February.

The 2005 Retreat and Tour of Cornwall
The Retreat
Yes, we are doing it again! After an excess
of success in 2004, we are listening to advice and recommendations
from those who attended last year’s sell-out retreat
at Earth Spirit Centre, Glastonbury, and have made some significant
changes. Numbers will be limited, and accommodation can be
pre-booked in several formats: single, double or triple en-suite,
double (shared bathroom), and dormitory, basic accommodation
such as shared yurt. Prices will vary accordingly. There is
also a basic accommodation option in the nearby village that
may be offered.
In 2005 we will give priority to the following
teachers: Raven Grimassi (author of many books on Strega and
Italian witchcraft), David Williams, (Lakota pipe carrier),
Dolores Ashcroft Nowicki (renowned writer and teacher), John
Matthews (leading Arthurian expert and author). Other invited
teachers, performers, story-tellers and musicians will be
present! Do you want to know more? If you are interested,
please email your name, address, and email address to
R.J. Stewart. and you will be put on the list for further
information.
The Tour
Following the retreat, there will a one-week
tour of ancient sites in Cornwall. The tour is directed by
Nigel Breen,
and will be based in one main hotel location, to enable us
to have a comfortable base for our tour. From our accommodation,
we will travel to ancient ritual sites by private bus. I will
be leading some ceremonies (as this has been specifically
requested by students and group members) and teaching primarily
about the ancestral consciousness, and we will have guest
teachers or speakers on some days. (This tour is not associated
with Gothic Image tours). Do you want to join us? If so, email
R.J. Stewart.
Books and Online Bookstore
The online bookstore is at www.rjstewart.net
. There you will find copies of my books and recordings, at
reasonable prices, including some that are supposedly difficult
to obtain, and often over-priced elsewhere. We also distribute
and mail-order a large list of titles by various magical and
spiritual authors, published by Thoth Publications, UK.
If you have been told that a book is “out
of print” or “unavailable” this may not
be true. Please check the bookstore website, which lists all
the books available and in print, and keeps them in stock
for mail order.
Meanwhile…
I hope to see you at a workshop or event
in 2005! You can email me. Please
be patient, as replies may be slow if I am travelling.
All good wishes
R.J. Stewart
