The UnderWorld Tradition
In 1983, RJ Stewart's book The UnderWorld Initiation
(originally
circulated to friends and students since 1978 as a private
manuscript),
opened new ways of working, taking ancient traditions
and reinstating
them for modern people. The book soon became a classic,
and with it's
companion recording Journey to the UnderWorld,
has been used
successfully by thousands of people worldwide.

A unique practical workshop on relating
to the spiritual powers of the
Land, the UnderWorld, and the Faery and Ancestral Realms.
The workshop includes:
- Entering and leaving the UnderWorld.
- The Dark Goddess and Earthlight.
- Faery allies and co-walkers.
- Speaking with Ancestors.
- The Seven Sleepers and Power Within the Land.
- A special feature on magical ballads from Scotland.
This workshop is open to all, beginners
or experienced, and forms a basis for joining further
workshops with RJ Stewart.

Power
Within the Land
The spiritual tradition of the UnderWorld
and Sacred Land, long suppressed, re-emerges at this
time of environmental crises. This initiatory tradition
is found in classical, Celtic, Norse, and shamanistic
sources, but dates back to prehistory, with its roots
in the megalithic Goddess culture of the ancestral world.
Power Within The Land is a
practical workshop on ways of altering our consciousness
and our relationship to the living land and planet,
with teachings from faery and UnderWorld traditions
handed down through oral and inner contacts, the workshop
includes:
- Entering and leaving The UnderWorld and Faery
Realm, the source of all life and transformation
within the sacred land.
- The Threefold Alliance of humans, faery beings,
and creatures of
the land.
- Ancestral voices and teachings, from the past
to the future.
- Encountering and awakening Sleepers at sacred
sites, in the land,
and in the five planetary zones.
Themes within the workshop are:
- Sacred kings and queens, heroes, and ancestral
Sleepers.
- Major legendary sleeping figures such as Merlin,
King Arthur, Snow White, and the myths and realities
of Cronos, Albion, Jesus and Lucifer in the UnderWorld.
- The relationship between humanity, other orders
of life, and the land and planet as a living conscious
being.
- The effect of the /UnderWorld Initiation/ upon
our consciousness
and energies.
There will be opportunities during
the workshop to directly experience the UnderWorld
Initiation, to establish faery and ancestral allies
and contacts, and to enter the deeper realms described
in the UnderWorld Tradition.

The
Underworld Revisited
The Rivers of Blood and Tears and the Underworld Tree
A new workshop in the ongoing Inner
Temple Traditions and Inner Convocation workshop series
taught by R J Stewart from 1989 to the present year.
What are the hidden Rivers of Blood
and Tears referred to in folkloric magical tradition
and UnderWorld spirituality? These mysterious Rivers
are said to flow in and out of the faery realm and UnderWorld
from the realms above, including the human realm and
the green world of nature. Ultimately they merge with
the evolutionary and involutionary streams of planetary
life and the cosmos. But how can we form a conscious
relationship with them, now, in this life?
Understanding the energies of the
Rivers is essential to transformation within the UnderWorld
spiritual traditions, yet there are very few coherent
practical teachings available.
In this two day intensive with R.
J. Stewart we will explore the traditions and ancient
source references for the Rivers, and discover how to
experience their subtle energies consciously. This workshop
involves meditation, visualization, movement and ceremony.
It leads up to a ceremony of Arousal of the Inner Fire
and Transformation of the Blood, as referred to in several
of R J Stewart’s books, and as enshrined in the
esoteric traditions and folkloric ancestral magic.
For some aspects of the teaching,
we will be working with the UnderWorld icon (designed
by R J and painted by Heather Brown) that appears on
the cover of The UnderWorld Initiation. You will receive
a large color copy of this icon when you arrive.
This is an open workshop and all are
welcome, but you should have experience of meditation
and visualization.
